The annual global CTBUH Awards Program pays tribute to exceptional projects and individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, with a strong emphasis on achieving sustainability at the highest and most impactful level. A distinguished international panel of experts judge the Awards Program, acknowledging outstanding projects across more than 20 categories and subcategories, including Best Tall Building, Urban Habitat, Innovation, Structure, and Construction.
This year, we are thrilled to announce that not just one, but two of our remarkable projects have received recognition. Our work on 307 Lake Shore Boulevard East has won a prestigious "Future Project Award," while 99 Gerrard has been honored as one of the world’s best adaptive reuse projects with a "Repositioning Award."
Situated on Toronto's waterfront, 307 Lake Shore Boulevard East will hold a prominent position at the base of Parliament Street, creating a striking gateway to the lakefront. The building will feature a generous pedestrian promenade along its north side, enlivened by community spaces and the residential lobby. The flatiron-shaped tower boasts a distinctive aesthetic with its lattice of offset triangular balconies encircling the structure. Emphasizing sustainability, the design incorporates progressive elements with the aspiration of achieving a net-zero carbon future.
99 Gerrard is a LEED Platinum certified purpose-built rental residential tower that is harmoniously integrated with its existing 1970s sister tower. Thoughtfully designed to possess its own unique characteristics, each area fosters a sense of a micro urban environment. Aesthetic appeal and durability were prioritized through the selection of simple, elegant, and high-quality materials, all while respecting the individual identities of each tower. Unique amenities, including a library, lap pool, spa, and games space, have been added, along with a rooftop terrace providing an exquisite entertainment area with breathtaking city views.
