Sheldon is inspired by the potential for applying high-quality urban intensification to improve the social, economic and environmental health of cities.
He specializes in the design of challenging large-scale residential and mixed-use developments, such as the Studio's comprehensive master plan for Downtown Markham. His projects have been commended for their contribution to city building, receiving numerous international and local design awards, including design excellence awards for Rouge Bijou, Nexus and Verdale. A Fellow of Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD), he speaks at industry and professional associations on environmental issues as they affect building design and facility management. Sheldon is also a past member of the National Roundtable on the Environment and Economy, and has developed and taught a course on sustainable design at Ryerson University. Currently, he is a member of the City of Vaughan Design Review Panel. A graduate of the University of Toronto School of Architecture, he has been a principal with the firm since 1999.
