The University of Manchester’s Business School reflects the institution’s standing while creating value for the wider community. The project involved renovating and expanding two existing 1970s buildings, adding a new hotel, executive learning centre, retail and landscaped public spaces. Multi-coloured vertical fins on the facade underscore the school’s brand and reduce heat gain within the building. Interior renovations included creating a simple, axial route through three open courtyards and adding dynamic student spaces to encourage collaboration and learning.
