Yves Bonnardeaux, Associate and Senior Architect at BDP Quadrangle, was recently featured on CBC Radio's Fresh Air program with Ismaila Alfa, sharing our vision for the McMaster University campus plan. In this captivating discussion, Yves discusses the innovative "re-wilding" initiative at McMaster University in Hamilton, a pivotal component of our comprehensive and forward-thinking campus plan.

The visionary campus plan envisions transforming McMaster University into a lively, walkable, and inclusive community. Standout elements include a new rapid transit station and diverse housing options engineered to foster dynamic, mixed-use neighbourhoods for students, faculty, and staff. A highlight is the plan to 're-wild' the West Campus, replacing parking lots with natural expansions of Cootes Paradise and significantly expanding the green space.

Our design leverages expertise from our global network of studios, including our Toronto studio and UK education architects, ensuring a greener, more connected, and accessible campus. The plan includes reimagined entrances, climate-resilient buildings, and integrated blue-green infrastructure, all supporting McMaster’s net-zero carbon goals.
